An exciting day at the EIS playing basketball last Wednesday. The Y6 team were phenomenal in the morning winning all of their games and qualifying in 1st place in their league. Everyone managed to score at least once during the tournament and the team work was exceptional. We finished in 4th place overall. Miss Dyson’s day was also made as we saw Antony Joshua!

An exciting day at the EIS yesterday celebrating 30 years of disability sport. 8 Watercliffe Meadow children took part in an athletics competition taking part in events such as boccia, high jump, javelin and seated volleyball. All of the children did fantastically well and came home with a certificate and a medal. Miss Dyson even came 2nd place in the teachers race.

A fabulous morning at the Y5/6 girls cross country relays on Saturday. The team did amazingly coming 12th out of 30 schools. A huge well done.

  • The Cross Country Championships can only  be described as a mud bath this morning. We had some fantastic finishing positions on a very tricky course. A huge well done to our Y6s Sienna Grayson, Ellie Howden and Deon Akwe for their commitment to the cross country team during their time at WCM and we wish them all of the luck in the world for the secondary school cross country races.

An amazing start to Monday morning with 9 children from Y6 competing in a dodgeball competition at Ponds Forge. All of the team played amazingly and showed excellent sportsmanship. We managed to win 2 new dodgeballs for school by winning the best designed poster competition. A big thank you to Lewis Dawson’s Mum who came along to help and support the team.

A very wet and muddy morning at cross country! Some fabulous finishes from Sienna Grayson 16th, McKenzie D’Arcy 88, Sam Mulcrone 81, Liam Townsend a PB of 115 and Bentley Thompson who only came to watch but ended up running and finishing in 117th place! What a great start to a Saturday morning! Well done team!

  • What an amazing evening at the Sheffield Shark versus Chesire Phoenix game, not only did the Sharks win but a fabulous group of Y6’s got to play a match at half time and meet all of the players afterwards.

Well done to Casey Mulcrone, Ellie Howden, Rhys Wilson, Lewis Dawson, Owen Scarborough and Thomas Baranowski for representing Watercliffe Meadow with such skill and determination. Miss Dyson is very proud of you! A huge thank you to all of the parents who came to support and cheer on the team.

The cross country team looking super smart in their new tracksuit tops. 7 runners finishing with personal bests and Arlo Justice Weise winning the best forward roll in a race award!
